Poem: If I ride (Bicycle) // Poema: Si monto (Bici)
If I ride I will know the way the trees smell after the rain. // Si
monto voy a saber la forma en la que huelen los árboles después de la
lluvia.
I will grow a heart, so strong, that hospitals will
take tuesdays off. // Fortalecere mi corazon tanto, que los hospitales
se podrán tomar los martes libres.
If I ride uphill, I will eventually... get to ride downhill. That's how
it works. // Si subo cuestas, podré eventualmente bajarlas. Asi es
como funciona.
If I ride, my breath will fill the air. Instead of
smoke and car exhaust. // Si monto, my respiración llenará el aire. En
vez del humo del tubo de escape.
If I ride, road rage will turn into laughter. // Si monto, la rabia de la carretera se convirtira en risa.
And I won't be a boy, or a girl. I will just be a rider. // Y no sere un chico o una chica, solo un jinete.
If I ride, I can wear spandex... like Spiderman.// Si monto, puedo vestirme de spandex… como el /la/lo seraraña.
And the planet will cool down, and survive, and thank me for riding
with flowers, and glaciers, and fireflies, and snow days off from
school. // Y el planeta se enfriará y sobrevivira y me agradecera por
montar con flores y glaciares y luciérnagas, y los días de nieve fuera
de la escuela.
If I ride, I will be strong. // Si monto, sere fuerte
I will change tires myself. // Me cambiare a mi mismx las ruedas
If I ride, I will only use oil on my chain... // Si monto, solo usare el aceite para mi cadena
and oil tankers will haul chocolate milk.// Y los petroleros transportaran leche con chocolate
